'85 2.1L(?) Oil Pump
Found a '85 for $100 as a vehicle for my son. Owner said it was recently rebuilt. Interior is good. Body is good. Haven't had a chance to really dig into it yet, but the owner said it was a 2.1L and the oil pump was bad. Bad pressure at low RPMs.
I've done lots of things on lots of different engines, but I've never done an oil pump. Can someone tell me what's involved? Had one fellow tell me the engine has to be pulled to do this. That just doesn't sound right to me. If it's too involved, I'll take it to a shop. Would rather try my hand at it, if it's not incredibly difficult.
Thanks!

Yes, the motor has to be pulled.
With all the money you just saved buying the car. I would goto a JYard and get a motor and tranny (350-700R4). Your gonna have to pull the motor anyway, might aswell not waste money on a motor thats just gonna give you more problems, and spend the money at the JY.
