84 2.8 swap

Default 84 2.8 swap

i have an 84 camaro thats got a burned piston bearing so im going to have to pull the engine, but i figured wile im pulling it i mine as well just put a new engine in or rebuild my old one. i just want to know if i could put in a 305 without pulling the trans or even a bigger v6.

for a V-8 if it's a standard you can switch out the bellhousing ... if it's auto you will have to change out trannys. for a V-6 your tranny will fit. Sick

A 3.4L v6 would do the job acceptably.

That's the supercharged v6 ONLY for FWD applications. Now, maybe the 3rd Gens have enough room to make that swap possilbe, but if you haven't budgeted the time and labor to wire that bad boy up....go with a 3.4L.

At least you can carb a 3.4L if you are on a budget.
