Hi. I just purchased my very first camaro, it's a3800 series 2 motor. Want to do some headers and exhaust for my first project.. Any suggestions? I'm looking for more h.p and a nice deep sound. Thanks

1st step is to check your state and local laws on emissions. some states dont allow long tube headers.

I am in fl. So the emmision laws are pretty laxed... Read about removing the cat n I could sneak ably 10hp... Is that true.

long tube headers and a good cat back exhaust is a good start. leave the cat, rasp is terrible if you delete. i dont think just removing cat does much for hp. lt headers is the main gainer. listen to some utube tracks with different cat backs and see which you like, i know there is a brand that the 3.8 guys prefer just cant place it off the top of my last brain cell.

i hear air intake an the right cat back can get 20 hp ,dont exspect a deep .sound from the 3800 ,its louder then stock ,but if you go from v8 to v6 like i have resently done an now have both ,the v6 is nice quick car ,but not built to go fast ,unless you want to build.the engine ,i seen .a build 3.8 mustang turbo geting 383hp rear wheels an sounded like a v8 ,was probley alot of money spent ,i hear one can bolt . the buick super charger to this v6 too, dont know what is does for hp,those cheap super chargers you see on ebay are not worth the.enjoy the car ,keep it imaculate clean put cat back any.hardly anyone will know you dont have z28 exsept you ,camaro is a camaro to most people they dont know ,the new 2015 v6 makes 330hp the same hp of 2002 ls1 v8 ,i could see myself in one for under 10.000 one day about 15 years for now mabey .thse are 200hp an i dont see .any guys building the 3.8l engines hear ,it can be done though youtube

fff was the only company that made long tubes for the 3800 10 sets total, good luck finding some.
Pacesetter and obx are the only headers still being made.
Borla by far is the best sounding exhaust, not the loudest though.

the m90 supercharge form the l67 3800 fwd cars will fit, but its by far not a simple bolt on, lots of custom work to the throttle body are and brackets to be made.
