3.8l hp upgrades
i have a 99 camaro with the 3800 series 2 and 5 speed stick. it is stock and im was wondering what are some good upgrades to do to get more power. i know with a v6 it is hard to get more power with bolt on parts but what are some bolt on parts that will increase power, i tried looking around and i found some intakes but i was looking for some other things. as long as they can go on with out pulling the motor that would be great
mp734, theres a sticky on how to bolt-on some ponies up here, here is the link:

As far as intakes go, you're probably going to have to drop some serious cash to get one for your V6, or modify one for a V8 to fit.
I have a thread about getting an LS1 SLP lid to fit my 3.8. (Here: https://camaroforums.com/forum/93-02...-lid-v6-72181/) It really wasn't very hard, but having someone else tell you what to buy that will fit is reassuring.

Maybe a little increase in throttle response. To really get the good out of the easier breathing intake, I'll need to have my ECU reprogrammed for the intake, which I don't plan to do until I've also put in an exhaust system.
My MPGs are definitely improved by the new intake, though. When I'm in a city where I get good mileage (AKA not where I am now), I can hit 24 MPG city, and that was before the new lid.

Amazon has a lot. For cheapity cheap cheap. Like 60 bucks. They don't look to bad either.
You can just buy a random off-brand one from somewhere on the internet for pretty cheap, and it'll probably be just fine.
I built my intake with SLP parts (as you can see in my sig). I just waited til I could get good deals on everything. Picked everything up for a total of like $150. Which is waaayy cheaper than the K & N. Just something to keep in mind if you're looking for a middle-ground on intake cost.

The lid came off an SLP car. The filter and induction package I bought second-hand from Hawks third gen. Those (as far as I know) were aftermarket parts offered by SLP.
