3.8 V6 ---> ?
Hey whatsup guys,
I am looking for some advice on my 2001 3.8L V6 Camaro. My dad and myself want to put a new engine into the car but we have no idea which one to get. I know there are the engine mounts and everything that we would have to work with since he has worked on engines before, but what is the best upgraded engine for my camaro? A few options to choose from would be nice but I would just like at least one suggestion of an engine size to put in. Thanks alot for your time guys.

Do you want a V8? If so, an LS1 would be the best, and next would be an LT1. If you can go bigger an LS7 would be the ultimate. I however think an LS7 in a Camaro would be overkill and you would most likely end up killing yourself unless you install a traction control system.

it goes both ways...if your gonna drop a V8 have fun, that would be a b**** if you ask me, not much is interchangeable, new front suspension, etc. but if you do, definetely get a LS1
or...
I have a 3800 too, and I've got $1,000 into performance mods (Cold Fusion Nitrous Kit, Pacesetter Headers, Flowmaster Exhaust, K&N CAI, MSD Ignition, LSD, 3.42 gears). I haven't taken it to the track yet, so no time s or dyno yet, but I'll be getting some good HP out of what I have, and it should be able to run with LT1
A V8 swap would be lots of money, if you want a V8...buy a V8 car in my opinion

just now hooking up the NO2...no track times/dyno yet, should know by spring so you'll see a post some time then
a guy with a similar setup on camarov6.com is running 14's with 265 rwhp with 100shot, but there's cars on that site that make very good times...I recommend that site to v6 owners
