Question 3.4 help

I was reading the thread about modding (?) a 3.4L .i just ahad a few questions
1-would the 160 degree thermo really make a difference?
2- what would the lower gears be for the rear end?
3- would the stock tranny hold or should I get a new one
4- how do you swap the 4.9L throttle body in?
5-and does a k/n intake really add 18 horses?

1. For temperature yes; for power, not really
2. Not sure what you are asking
3. See No. 2
4. What is that from? I have seen pics where someone had fabricated their intake to fit an LT1 throttle body (not worth it though)
5. Not unless your current intake is the size of a coffee straw

It might, but wouldn't be worth it.

The thread talks about changing up the rearend gears to a lower gear. what would that be. and I was reading an article in CHP when they said that GM put crappy transmissions and rear ends on the camaros, and that the slightests mods will reduce them to scrap.
