Default 3.4 to 3.8 and transmission swap

Hello their this is my first time posting so forgive me if i sound dumb... but recently i bought a 94 3.4 camaro for 1000 bucks... and because it was my birthday a good friend offered to do a v8 swap because he had a good engine and transmission lying around but i dont wanna deal with echeck issues down the line because this is now my only car and daily driver so i declined the offer... but eventually down the line this winter i thought about finding a 3.8 motor and transmission to go with it... (i found one on craigslist for 500 bucks...probably gonna be gone by this winter)...(and i'd buy a beater to drive to work)

so basically my question is would finding a 3.8 motor and transmission and all electrical the goodies that go with it out of a wrecked car be not too much harder than doing a v8 swap? or should i just be happy with the power i'd get from a k&n intake and cat back exhaust for the 3.4?... i dont really wanna use a turbo or supercharger... those should kill my gas mileage

i think with the 3.8 and intake and exhaust for it... i could have a 15 sec car (high 14s if i take the passenger seat out and somehow lighten the car a bit more for a run if i'm lucky maybe)... i already have wider tires in back 245/50...225/50 in front... i'm just out to make a respectably quick daily driver

Use the research function this has been covered. Your 3.4 is a OBD computer system the 3.8 is a OBD2 system. That means you would have to pull almost every system out of a doner car or be really good at electronics. Also you need the front K frame section. I would say its more work then doing a 94 LT1 swap.

There are some good posts floating around about upgrading your 3.4. One of the big upgrade is to newer FWD heads.
