1994 3.4L to LT1 V8 swap questions
Hey everyone, I justbought a 3.4L 1994 Camaro and I am very pleased with it. I was reading about improving the performance of the 3.4L engine and it said that the best thing that you can do is to swap it with a LT1 V8 engine. I hopefully will be doing this further in the future, but my questions are
(1) around how much money will the swap take (including the cost of the LT1 )
(2) is it very difficult to swap
(3)what is the best thing I can do to increase its performance in the near future without swapping theentire engine
I'd really appreciate any advice, Thanks

By no means am i trying to be a **** but this question gets ask every other day and if you'd just look a few posts behind on the forums you'd find all your awnsers and more.
But i'll go ahead a awnser them...
1...more then you paid for the v6 camaro itself and it would be about the same price if you just went out and bought a 94 v8 or so...you have to remember that you need all the parts and hookups for the v8 from the transmission, to the rear axle, to the dash for rpms and speed, and wire harness.
2...not really worth it unless your v6 is something very special to you like you inherited for example...
3...the 3.4 wasnt a great engine to add mods to so the aftermarket never really took to it...you can do little things like higher flow exhaust, CIA, and tune .... theres a few other things in the stickys of this section

Search for a top end swap using the grand am gt's 3400 SFI engine, which swaps the stock iron heads with high flow aluminum heads, increases intake by changing the upper and lower intake. I've heard that this combination will give lt1 z28's a run for there money!http://forum.camarov6.com/showthread...fc&t=64963
