Default will a 95 z28 rearend work in a 98 z28?

for a while now, the rearend in my 98 z has had some nasty noises coming from it. i thought about having it serviced, but then i found a rear end from a 95 z28 for very cheap. it is a good rear end and looks like it will bolt right in. both rearends have traction control. should i go ahead and make the swap, or should i have my current rearend serviced, this is a stock ls1 and i have no plans to up-grade the power.

What sort of noises is it making? I would try to determine what is failing before buying another 10 bolt.

i already bought the rearend, it was only 200 bucks so not a huge gamble and i'll sell it if it wont work.
