So, im new to this site and im just now starting to learn a few small things about cars. Well, I have a 1999 Camaro v6 and im swapping to an LS1. The guy that is basically gonna do it for me said I need to find a tranny and to look on camaro forums. Does anyone know where I can get one? And about how much it will cost?

1- you can probably instal the engine yourself if it's a turnkey. 2- you don't necessarily need a new transmission, when the guy says you need a new one he means that the way it is now it cant handle the power. with some parts like a clutch, gears, pressure plate and flywheel you can basically get a new trans for allittle over a grand. i'm in the same boat and im thinking of using specgear as a supplier. but before you do this definately ask around some tuning shops to make sure this will work for you
