Default what trans??????

will work in my 94 can i go newer or do i have to stay in the 94-95 cars

From what I've heard/read, you will need to stay with a '94 tranny. '95 was when the trans started haveing PWM where 94 won't have it. 96-97 will be different as well. I'm in the same boat as you, I need a 95 specific for mine.

damn well lets hope your wrong lol no theres alot of chevy trucks in my jyard im sure i can find a 94... i really wanted to know because id love to put the newest trans in that i can find

Yeah sorry, you're going to need to stick with a 94 for the compatibility reason chevyz1 gave. In the 95 model, the torque converter locks up a different way than yours does (Pulse Width Modulated). That style of trans will have "PWM" stamped on the front of the pump housing.
