Transmission Problem
I have a 97 Camaro V6 3.8L with 58,000 miles on it. Basically when im driving it, its like it wont downshift and starts to try to die like if you were driving a 5 speed at 35 MPH in 5th gear. A freind of mine said that it could just be that the linkage needs adjustment but I no nothing about cars. Any input would be appreciated. If there is an adjustment, if you could tell me how to adjust it.
Thanks

if it tries to die when your coming to a stop, like slowing down in a maual trans. car with out pushing in on the clutch, but is ok if you shift it into nuetral you need to replace the tcc solenoid in the trans. it will eventually get to where you can start the vehicle and it will die when you put it in gear, start back up fine only to die again when put back in gear.
No there isnt a check engine light....
It also runs fine when coming to a stop...
It only seems to do it when im going between 50 - 75 mph...
It just kinda of putters. Its mainly when you slow down to traffic or your going up hill. Its like it wont downshift.

I had an old '83 Z28 that was doing that but it just started one night and like fifteen miles down the road the transmission completley gave..so you might want to get that checked out just in case it is a major tranny prob. but hopefully its something that can be easily fixed
run it up to gm and pay the guy to put the scanner on it. they can check all the tranny functions and tell you if there is a problem.. went thru this on my burban.. trust me the dealers expensive, but so are the parts to fix the tranny.
