So I installed the HD-2 kit on my 96z and i have a CEL with:

P1886-Transaxle Shift, Timing Solenoid Performance
P1860-TCC PWM Solenoid Circuit
P1864-TCC Enable Solenoid Circuit

I pulled it out of the garage fine, but when I started to drive, it felt very sluggish. I just read on another post that this kit switches it to manual shift control? I had no idea this kit had that until I read that, and I realized I was in OD when I pulled out, not first.

Now if someone can A) let me know for sure if it is manual control and not just firmer shift and B) if anyone had this problem with this kit.

I dropped the pan and checked all of my connections and solenoids and everything felt good and snug. Also, this isn't my first time in a 4L60E valve body so I knew exactly what I was getting into and what it took to rebuild one.

the hd2 kit is shift select, OD should act like a normal auto trans with a bit of a kick. putting it down into a gear (1-3) will act more like a manual it wont shift until you actually manually shift to the next gear up.

as for the codes id call transgo they have really good customer service, when i installed the kit they helped me out a lot.

 

Oh ok. Its just I went to pull out of my driveway, it felt very sluggish and the more gas I gave, it eventually started to pick up a tiny bit, but I couldn't let it rip to actually see how it felt bc my old man is sleeping haha

I'll give them a call whenever their hours are open.

 

youll enjoy that shift select, when you get that rice burner that trys to race while your driving down the rd and you cant quite catch him because your car doesnt want to down shift... now boom you want second gear you got it. i loved the shifting with the hd2 kit.

 

Lol well even with stock trans, I don't think a rice burner is getting away from top end built LT1 haha just saying. I reeled in and passed my buddy's 2003 E46 M3, so I doubt a ricer will put up an effort (:

OK, so I went back outside today and tried to drive it again in the driveway and back to the garage, but I tried it in first gear this time. When I had it in manual first, it didn't move at all, just revved. I backed the back up and put it in first and still didn't move in first, but moved in all other gears. Under the weight of the car in OD, it moves but slow. I can't call Transgo until tomorrow so I was wondering if that little story could help narrow it down some.
