Shift linkage cable 96 RS Camaro
Hello,
96 RS Camaro with V6 and auto trans.
Just had it towed home and appears the shift linkage broke off right where the cable connects to the transmission.
The cable itself appears to be fine. Appears the stud broke off that the cable hooks to.
Does anyone know if this stud might be a removable? Maybe I get lucky and it's not welded in place onto the shift linkage arm and I won't have to start modifying things? Hmmm..
Thanks for any thoughts.

Excellent, thanks for the reply. YES that's it. Thanks for posting, it was dark last night when I unloaded from the tow truck.
I see the bolt in the pic that holds the "shift arm" on. Looks like it's going to be an easy fix, just buy a new shift arm!
Thanks for the help! I wonder if I can find it on ebay or am I stuck ordering it from the dealer...? HMM
Anybody know what the transmission is called on this baby?
UPDATE: $25 bucks on ebay, I hope I got the right one! : )

the shaft that comes out of the trans that has threads on it. the shift arm fits onto the shaft and is held on by the nut. you most likely busted the ball that the cable end goes to. better crawl under there and have a look

Yes, that's where it broke, I did get a look as I used pliers to take it out of gear so we could unload it from the tow truck, but was in a hurry and it was dark so hadn't noticed the simple bolt that removes the arm. So looks like I am all set without much effort.
I appreciate the picture and your assistance!
