Default S**t....i blew up reverse

Well....this sucks.

I'll start off by saying I was pissed before this happened...and even more so after it happened.

So i was stopped.....put the car in reverse (mind you i'm pissed at this point in the story) floored the gas and dumped the clutch and i moved about 3 feet back. In my angered state I was hoping that ugly noise I just heard was only the shifter slipping out of gear. Not so much i had just blew reverse to high heaven!

I had to drive about 2 min to get home from where i was at the time, 1st through 5th all worked just fine, but i tested reverse just to make sure once i got home and yep...it wasnt there anymore.

How much (ball park) is it going to run me to fix, and what else might have gotted effed up when reverse went to pieces? Its a 94 v6 with a 5 speed (obviously)

well, as you found out, inanimate objects don't care about your moods, but your wallet does.

Will it go into reverse with the engine off?

it could be a whole host of things and I'd be speculating without more details

what happens if, with the engine running, you go into neutral, release clutch for a few seconds and then, depress clutch and attempt to go into reverse?

What happens if you pump the clutch a few times while in neutral with engine running and then try reverse?

First question-----goes right into reverse, it does get a little stuck when shifting back out.

Second question-----havent tried that.

Blew the reserve on my ford truck once. I took to the dealership and they told me i burnt out some sensor in the tranny. Good thing it was under warranty. And yes I was pissed off when I blew it. Lol

Uh-oh...down the same path, eh? So what's your exit strategy, I dropped bread crumbs along the way!
