Default Flexplate Replacement

1995 Camaro 3.4lL automatic transmission. Does the engine need pulled to replace the flexplate? Also any idea of a ballpark figure for a garage to do the work? Thanks!

Easier in pulling trans than engine, but then, I'm not a professional vehicular technician.

I have never done a 3.4 4th gen but I have done a lot of flex plates including 3rd Gens. I remove the trans bolt and lines, remove the rear trans mount. install (2) 4" studs with the correct thread in the lowest trans bolt holes. Slide the trans back about 3 inches R and R the flex plate. reverse process.

If you do not have have real studs just look up the thread spec in a shop manual and buy some long bolts at the hardware store, cut the heads off and put a slot in just incase the threads get bound or just grind two flats and use an adjustable.
