Default IAC replacement.

Looks like I'm needing to replace my IAC on my 95z. I see two parts, one says with engine cooling, one says without. Any insight on which is the correct one?

According to the parts manual, the cooling reference is referring to a car with the engine oil cooling system (KC4) option.

Does the car have an engine oil cooler? The service parts label would have the RPO KC4 if it came originally with the option.

AH I got ya! Looks like mine doesn't have it. Interesting enough, Rock Auto seems to have the parts listed as (with or without) but partsgeek lists it as the same part for 95-97 with out without. I wonder if there's really a difference in this part?
EDIT: none of the part numbers from partsgeek line up wit Rock Auto lol. I guess I'll just go with a cheap one that says it fits and see how it goes.

I looked through a 1995 Product Guide for the Camaros and couldn't find any information about an oil cooler option being offered, so I don't know much more about it. But if you look at the parts manual page above, you'll notice the 1995 IAC w/o the KC4 option is the same part number as the 96-97 IAC which didn't offer a oil cooler option those two years. This could explain the partsgeek listing for 1995-1997.

Hey, I just looked your partsgeek link and it states this IAC only fits a 1995 w/o an oil cooler. This matches up with what the factory parts manual is saying. Here's a screenshot of the web page.

The rock auto site lists both IAC's with and without.

I see, I was reading the partgeek page wrong. Thanks for all the help! Side question, do you think this sensor could also keep a car from starting or make it hard starting sometimes?

I'm not experienced enough to answer that question. Someone like Gorn would have a better understanding of how a faulty IAC could effect the engines operation.

No worries, thanks for all the help. The shop I've been going to hasn't done very well at diagnosing problems since new management took over. I've found what seems to be another good shop in town I think I'll have them check it out. Hard to diagnose when it won't do the problem at the shop though...

Well I bought an IAC and TPS from Oreilly and a buddy helped me put it on. Now it seems to start and idle fine but it won't shift gears and the check engine light comes on when revving.... Guess I'll limp it to a shop here in town and let them take a look at it.
Edit: I should say it won't shift from first. It'll shift into first and reverse.
