notice the car was taking of slower than normal and feeling funnny so i plugged in the aldl to my laptop and theres this code. its not in there the second time i drove the car but its still doing weird shifts or something . so could it be just the selonoid going bad or can other things cause this?
whats a good free program to scan the trans? im using freescan, datamaster didnt catch the code and efi live im not sure if im using it right or not. this trans came out of adifferant car and sat for years with 20k on it. it doesnt drive funny most of the time.

DTC 81 refers to the 2-3 shift solenoid. Could be a bad solenoid, or a wiring problem between the PCM and the solenoid. Also check fuse #11 in under hood fuse box. The solenoid can be replaced without having to remove the transmission.

 

yeah i have one from my old trans. ill check that fuse, i think i might have checked it already. the car seems to shift late... should it shift at 6k under wide open throttle taking off on the freeway in drive or over drive? shouldnt it shift sooner?
