Default converting trasmission from standard to auto

I have a 97 3.8 with standard tranny. What do I have to swap out to make it an auto.

One of the easier questions for tranny conversions. You'll need to apparently take out the trans, shifter, and clutch assembly along with the bell housing. You'll need a new cross member, shifter, console, shift cable, flywheel, transmission and depending on the trans you might need a different drive shaft. You'll need the brake pedal assembly from an auto car.

OH i forgot about that lol. I'm still thinkin 2nd gen. Yeah you'll need a new computer and a different harness that adapts to the auto trans. I'd look to a junk yard and spend the extra money for the garunteed parts. You'll also need to close the circuit for the clutch safety switch. Or you could re-route those wires and put them to the neutral safety switch on the auto trans shifter.
