Hi Everyone,
I hate even asking this. i'm changing the trans fluid and pulled the filter out, the seal did not come with it. used a pick to pull out the rubber seal, however i can not get the new seal in. my question is, could there be more to that rubber seal? possible a metal case with a rubber coating on the inside of the metal?
any help would be appreciated. --Brian

 

If I remember right, should just be a little metal cylinder with an o-ring on the top. Use some petroleum jelly to get the new seal and the new filter up in place. Last thing you want is to think you have it up there and then have it fall to the bottom of the pan and burn up the trans.

 

Yes, metal and rubber, and a bit of a pain to get out!
