I was wondering if anyone has had a problem with the VSS that acted like this

I am wondering if the VSS could be the problem anyone of you ever have that happen and know what that acts like.

I've never heard of the Vehicle Speed Sensor being a problem with these fourth gens, what made you come to suspect that? The only problem a faulty sensor would cause is the wheel speed sensor not telling the ECU the correct amount of speed and your speedometer being off, but It wouldn't have anything to do with your tranny

Been doing some studying and wonder if anyone has had problems like this happen with a bad VSS

As I said before, your VSS does not affect your tranny and neither does your ESS(Engine speed sensor) unless it's throwing a VSS code, the incorrect speed readings to the ECU may cause slight trouble when shifting but shouldn't cause it to get stuck. Make sure your topped off with enough transmission fluid. Is it throwing any codes? SES on?

failing vss can mess with the shifting but is not going to stop the linkage from shifting into park or neutral, that would have to do with the shift shaft or the valve body

I wonder if the valve body has been checked yet..it's been mentioned at least 4 times..

Make sure the actual shaft is turning the linkage could be stripped

Hmmmm, the valve body, now that's a new thought!!! You need to drop the pan to do some scouting around. You have a mechanical, not electrical issue.
