I am pretty sure the 96 would be a problem due to changes in the computer system. 1996 is the first year OBDII. Based on what Camaro 69 said in another post you need a 93-94 transmission form a full size car or truck (not a 93 camaro). I think there is a way to convert the 95's to work with the 94s.
Don't forget you need your tail shaft housing to switch to the new transmission.
