hey guys i have an 02 SS with the A4 tranny and i was wondering what is the factory rear axle ratio in this thing? i have a hypertech programmer and am trying to change the tire size and it want's to know the rear ratio. does 2.73 sound right?

 

should be a 273 or a 342
i have an ss but its a stick, mines a 342

 

3:23 gear ratio sounds correct for a SS.....

 

i think hes right, 323 auto 342 stick

 

you will have to check your glove box for the codes. you'll be looking for a GU#(the pound will be a number).

GU2=2.73
GU4=3.08(six cylinders)
GU5=3.23
GU6=3.42(6 speeds only)

mine came stock with the GU5 code which means i had 3:23 gears. 2:73's are entirely possible in your car
