Rebuilding 4L60 as I lost 3rd & 4th gear. Took apart front pump and found a small brass plug. None of my transmission books make any mention of it. Could someone help me identify it and where it goes?

 

looks like some kind of restrictor that belongs on the end of a spring somewhere, keep in mind I know nothing about transmissions. lol.
