Default What is this?

On the backside of the front lower control arm. Kinda looks like a ball joint, but hard to tell. Is it bad that I can see the shiny part?

It's like this on both sides.

Looks like a lower control arm bushing is a little chewed up. There a real pita to replace may want a shop to do it... unless you have a press.

Better to just replace the whole control arm? (even though I just got new ball joints)

it will be cheaper to just replace the bushings. you could always go tubular control arms, but those run about 600$

Moog lower bushings are only like $30 bucks for a set. Which is better than the uppers which are $30 for one...

Those need replacing! I had mine done under an extended warranty -- I hear they're a pain to do! The dealership just replaced the entire A Arm which came with new bushings... It was amazing how much of a difference the changed bushings made in how the front end feels!

I did my own with a big c-clamp. I won't lie, it took a couple hours to do both sides but totally worth doing it yourself if you have the resources! Saves quite a bit of money. Lol

Remove control arm? Press the old one out with a c-clamp and press a new one in? Probably the most time spent on removing the a-arm? Silly, easy question, how do I tell what suspension option I have? There are different bushings, I guess, depending on the suspension. F41?

Codes in the glovebox will determine your suspension package. What I did was get a c clamp that you screw the big bolt through to tighten more and more. If that makes since. I put the c part of the clamp in a vise and screwed the big bolt with a 4 way. I don't know how else to explain it other than draw a picture and upload it lol.
