Default tie rod replacement

Hey all,

I took my 95 base Camaro into the shop to have her checked up. Most everything checked out, but I definitely need new tires, and my right inner tie rod needs to be replaced. The mechanic said that it isn't too bad, just a little wobble. I've purchased the part myself online and plan to replace it.. how hard of a job is it? I also have an appointment to get brand new tires + alignment today. The new tie rod won't arrive until at least Monday. Should I hold off on the new tires until I replace the tie rod, or go ahead and get them today? I imagine I would need another wheel realignment.
Another possibility: Cancel my order and look for the inner tie rod locally, and get the tires replaced tomorrow.

What do y'all think?

You will need an alignment after the tie rod install, so it makes more sense to first do the tie rod, then the tires as opposed to doing two alignments.

Thanks for the input. My coworkers told me the same thing. I've already called and rescheduled the new tires. Now to watch and learn how to replace an inner tie rod

Meant to mention one thing that guy in the video didn't do that I would if I were doing it, and that is to replace the outer tie rod end as well.
Kinda stupid to have it all apart and in your hand only to put it back together with an old end.
Since the inner tie rod end is shot, how far behind do you think the outer one is?

I would also suspect the other side to be not too far behind, but that's just me. Also don't let them con you into a 4 wheel alignment. The rear cannot be aligned, its a solid axle.

Jacked up the car this weekend, crawled under, and guess what. Absolutely NO problem with either tie rods. The mechanic told me that the right one was loose and gave a bit of a wobble... that thing was rock-solid. I replaced them anyways, since I had the wheel already removed. I just think it's ridiculous how these people try to con consumers. I bet the fuel filter I ordered based on their judgement won't really need to be put in either. It was a Goodyear tire place. Won't be taking my business there anytime soon.
Thanks for all the tips though!

inner rod ends rarely go out on the 4th gens. outer tierod ends on the other hand go out quite often. lower ball joints are another front part that is a common fail point that is overlooked. i had a similar recomendation from a shop and ended up at another shop getting ball joints which is what i knew the problem was anyways.
