Default Lower bushings on front struts.

My front struts were worn out, so I replaced them with some from Auto Zone. About 10 months and 3000 miles later, the lowers bushings were completely shot and half missing. So I warranted the struts, changed them again, about 10 months later- same dang problem! So I just ordered a set of AC Delco struts for it, thinking they would be higher quality parts. When I compare the Auto Zone struts to the Delcos they look absolutely identical, same decals, same numbers stamped on them, everything. I starting to wonder if these will really fix the problem.

Have you guys seen a lot of problems with these bushings? Could something else be causing them to fail? Is there anything I can be doing wrong?

Thanks,
Steve

I replaced my front struts last year. When i removed the old struts i noticed that on the newer struts the lower mount flange was opposite from what was installed. I trired to turn the flange but the bushing was not going to move. Not wanting to compress the struts i brought them to a shop with the old struts to match them up. Not saying this is your issue...but the lower bolts should just slip in with no interference. The struts can come from manufacturer built wrong. Just something to look at.
The lower mount should match the contour of the lower A arm. // not like \ /.

Bought five years ago on a rockauto delco, after 1000 miles, the bushings were completely destroyed. this is a disgusting quality or a deception of buyers. Although the damper itself works well. My problem is that I am in Russia and there is no possibility of a warranty replacement, very expensive shipment of parts. I had to replace this bushing with a polyurethane one from another car model. Tnper works perfectly, already three years.
