2001 Camaro Bounces
I dont know much about cars but my camaro bounces pretty bad on the highway and seems to bottom out when I go over a bump too fast. I can push my car down with my hand pretty easy also. Are my struts or shocks or both bad and whats the differance between the two. Also where is a good place to buy stock struts/shocks and how easy are they too do on your own if you have all the equipment to do it yourself. Thanks for you time and answers!

Yea, they're blown and need to be replaces. Alot of people enjoy bilsteins, they give you a stiffer ride but nothing to stiff. They'll increase handling a bit but not like a race car, they are also reasonably prices. THe rears are extremely easy, took me about an hour. You have to take out some of the rear plastic panels to get to the top nut. The fronts will need a spring compressor. Easy to do by hand, just takes a lil bit longer.
A shock is just two tubes with a gas in them that helps keep ur car steady. Which is what you have in the rear. The fronts are called struts. Same idea, except it has a seat for the springs to sit on. So the springs essentially fits around the shock. Saves spaces is i think is a much better idea.
