Default 1999 Camaro SS Tork Arm Question?

When replacing your Tork Arm, do you really have to lower the transmission to do so? I was told it's going to cost me $345 in labor just to replace my Tork Arm and Bushings. They(Chevorlet Dealership) told me you have to lower the transmission to do so. Is that true?

Default RE: 1999 Camaro SS Tork Arm Question?

They are full of it. It can be done with the tranny in place. If they want to lower the rear of the tranny, all they have to do is unbolt the crossmember under the transmission. Why are you replacing the torque arm??
