My 95 Camaro Rebuild!!!
#21
Thanks guys, glad to know people are watching. I know there's some pretty good builds happening in this forum and the other guys deserve attention too!
I kept the stock stuff for 2 reasons.
1 - The controller arms and subframe are still in really good shape. No cracks etc.
2 - Cost. Being up here in Canada everything is expensive! To get a controller arm shipped here would run me about $400.00 per arm. So, I'm coating them with POR and putting in new bushings and ball-joints.

Really nice build thread man, it's very nice to have actual updates in one. What all happened to your car when the control arm broke loose? And did you think about sueing the city? I don't know much about Canada so I don't know it that's even possible. And did you think about swapping a V8 while it's all apart? Not that there's a reason to, but it's apart.
Anyway, keep up the good work.

greenarrow - I did try to go after the city. Apparently they have special legislation and it is very hard to get a settlement. Long story short, it's useless.
Of course I considered putting an LT1 in there! But, I just had my tranny rebuilt 1500km ago, and I don't have all the mother stuff I need like wiring harness and rear end. So, rebuilding the V6 will do great. I have headers, a high-flow cat and a stage-II clutch.
scooch - the bowtie is a reflective one. The 95 didn't come with a bowtie on the front so I got the after market decal and put it there. The reflection is from the camera flash.
I am taking a few days break because I have to get my Grand Prix GTP ready for drag racing on the 27th since the Camaro won't be ready. Wheel bearings, motor mount and power steering line and I'm good to go!

Anyhow enjoyed the read on the build.
P.S: My buddy won against the state for failing to display a warning sign for road work which damaged his 2011 truck. He pretty much told them pay for the repairs or deal with a lawsuit(It almost went to court be for they settled).

Final update on this thread. The car was sent to the junkyard. The frame was badly rotted which is part of the reason the controller arm separated from the frame. Here in Canada buying a used Camaro that's 19 years old will be rotted out because of all the salt on the roads.
