Damn! Well as bad as that sux any wreck you walk away from is a good one.
Real bummer about the car but it can be replaced if not fixed.
No doubt the insurance will total it even if it can be fixed, too old and too much damage.
Hope they don't lowball you on the value, I had to fight tooth and nail for fair compensation when they totaled my '93 Z28 over just paint and windshield damage.
I didn't budge and eventually got a somewhat fair deal then bought the car back for $300 and had the paint fixed for another $300.windshield just had some pitting so I lived with it. I was hit with a mudslide during a thunderstorm so it was also a comp claim. Best of luck!

I would be happy with 6K, its a shame about the hood I am glad I did not have my 18" rims on there.

Kelley Blue Book is saying from $4600 to $6200

Wish I had time for a project but I need a car next week and moving that thing around looks like a lot of fun on my driveway which is on a hill.

I could get a shell cheap and if the motor was damaged I could pick up a 6.0 for under 1K.

She looks nice enough, and nice not having leaky T-tops, and remove the Z28 badges and make her a 'sleeper'.
Good luck with your decision. She is nice tho', LS3/T56 would be nice.

Glad you're alright. My dad had something similar happen to him last year, he hit a huge chunk of log that had fallen off somebody's trailer with his truck going about 60 mph.

I think a project is out of the question, I do not have the room to store the cars while I do it and I need a car ASAP. My trailblazer entire front suspension and differential is spread out in my garage and because of my injuries I am not sure when I will get back to that.

I have been looking for a good commuter, I drive 120 miles a day. I want 30 MPG, coupe that I can get in and out of near the size of a camaro. I would love of find a nice garage kept low miles 3800/5 speed. I would also take a LS1/6 speed in the same condition. I would like to find something under 12K that I can just get in and drive.

I have been looking at 2010 5th gens and have not found the right one.
I also have been looking at

GTO's
Mustang's
Monte Carlo's
Any other ideas on a good safe commuter?

So far the GTO is in the lead with less miles and slightly better MPG.

Well there's always Firebirds and Caddys to consider too. Oh and Poncho G8s and even Corvettes, buddy picked up a real nice 1997 Vette last year for $10K with 90K miles.

I have searched Firebirds, The G8's are 4 doors and with my size I tend to not fit well. Vett will be an insurance issue with the my 22 year old daughter on my insurance. Caddies always scare me with all the very pricey tech. You have an issue with the dash or temp control system and it ends up as a nightmare.

The GTO looks nice, and they upgraded the hood for you! RWD work ok for you in the winter?
