Noticeable difference both brake and clutch action.

Looks like the ring gap was little too tight and it butted together and broke.

I never seen or heard of this brace. I mean, I haven't been looking at parts for the car in a while, but I still don't remember ever seeing it even when I was. What is the purpose? I get the idea behind it, but I can't see the master moving that much to need it.
