Best engine swap?

Take a hard look at the 2005-2006 GTO. Its a smaller car and with the LS2 400 hp. It will be easier on the pocket then Roush Mustang. Like all LS motor the stack numbers are just the starting point, you can add boost or stay NA and still hit 500 hp with just a cam head upgrade.
though i think the ls1 would be the way to go couse i still love the looks of the 4th gen .like i said when i got my camaro i was looking at 07 mustang brand new, thought they were ugly, but now like there looks , they can be found but harder to find low miles ones like the 4th gen ,so will see,i want back in a stock car ,so i can then start to think about add ons later ,but just drive it for A few years ,blow the engine then do another swap,JOKEING hehhehe
still cant beat the 4th gen seen a black ss 2001 for sale 67000 $5000.00 the mustang has the shorter wheel base, though in the end will go with the best bang for the buck ,that person that needs to sell then jump right on it,the c5 2000 vette sold fast at $8700.00 best offer with 46k another thought is the vette the buyer probley got it for 8k or less ,but most are out of the 10k range will be the max budget but 5 to 8k will be better,i been looking at some of the c4 vettes with low miles 300hp an lt1 engine for like 6k 70.000 miles

I would skip the LT1 cars, you had one, the Vett ones are going to be the same except the 96 LT4 one and the way they are priced you might as well get a LS. The LT4's are only manual and they tend to bring more money. The lonely reason the LT4 exists is GM did not want everyone waiting for the C5 and no one buying a 96. Any earlier Lt1 will cost you $2500 just to get to the power level that the LS starts at.
Carful with the caddies, They are awesome cars when new but once they are older the cost to keep everything working can get crazy. Pretty messed up when you are looking a 3.5K to repair your defroster is a 5k car.

yes thanks gorn i will likely go with the ls1 car, there the best bang for your buck too, only reason i was looking lt1 is the 94 95 vette cars have 300hp lt1 engine ion them there lighter ,an i seen few real nice ones, this 1995 one someone took the time to put the side pipes custom look too, looks real cool 77.000 miles for $6000.00,i am thinking it probley gets very hot right there though says AC works, a nice unmostested one is a thought, the 80s vette unless one can find zr1,most are junk
the mustang got to shop a bit more for but found a few around the 10k range with 50k miles,an the 4.6 has proved itself had few of those in the crown vic, vette says collectors edition i did see one lt4 car also right now there is a 2001 z28 67k miles for $5700 i got to save a few bucks an sell mine though the jeep took me back a bit paid cash for it,so recovering from that

Looking to do a engine swap I know i know ls swap it but can't really afford to do a ls swap I'm leaning towards a l67 the motor I have now is getting close to 200k miles and I'm wanting to try something different than doing a ls swap like everyone else question is how difficult would this be and list of parts I would need
