So my wife surprised me with rear shocks for the car. She's pretty well in the know on a lot of parts for static and air suspension for the truck world, and began searching on her own after I mentioned I needed to address the rear bumpstops, springs and shocks asap as I have scrubbed tire a few times. She located Belltech's "muscle car series" shocks for the rear of the car which are for a 0-2 inch rear drop. +1 for her lol!

I'll decide what to do for the front struts shortly.

I never heard of anybody using those before on an fbody. The most common cheap but still good front and rear socks are kyb agx adjustable and bilstein. I have the agx and they ride great, let us know how these work out.

Fyi 4th gens don't have struts

Ahh yeah, i myself wasn't aware they made anything other than truck related parts so I was pleasantly surprised. Should be tearing the rear apart and knocking that out this weekend if all goes well (getting house ready for christmas / family get together *sigh*

D'OH excuse my blonde moment! lol

and on a side note, fixed truck is fixed. No more daily driving the camaro only got stuck in the rain/salt mixture once and immediatley went home and washed it and polished the wheels again.

Well. still / back at this lol. Some updates
Currently building an LM7 5.3 Gen3 for the bodydropped show truck Sonoma. That's about ready to come home for me to go to town on cleaning up and readying the sonoma for that swap.
I obtained motor 2 of 3 about a year ago. Gen 4 aluminum 5.3 from a 08 + Tahoe or yukon. Came sans pistons and rods. This is what will be the platform for the Camaro power. Not planning on any boost at this time, but can't rule that out.
LS Kmember with rack obtained, rear shocks installed, lowering springs enroute.. drivers window regulator assembly done (that was an adventure). picked up a 17/15 jegs ssr combo to run also, will still mainly run the boyd's but want to have some more meat.

Both the sonoma and camaro will run the holley system 6.86 screen in the holley s-series dash bezel, hoping to do the 12.3 in the camaro. This car will serve a variety of functions, nice weather driver, daughters fun car when she is of age under my supervision as this was my dad's car we hold this car to a special place for us. street/strip/driver with full interior, a/c etc. we will shoot to do HRPT 2024 together and with wife dependent on how she's doing from back stuff.

Currently enjoying putting some miles on the car as it is (new belt, coolant flushed, oil filter change, nut bolt check) with the Ttops out weather permitting.

That is a very clean car.

Before you think about a 5.3 swap into the camaro make sure you research how to handle the BCM. Once you Disconnect the PCM the BCM will be a problem. The BCM runs a great deal of the electrical system in the car. The biggest issue is the gages then there is power window/door, AC/Heater. If you have a running car think twice about this swap.
