Default 2000 v6 engine change

2000 base camaro with blown engine. picked up a 06 buick L26 with 61k miles on it. (info on what years and engines work here https://camaroforums.com/forum/93-02...nt-info-57568/) stripped it down to block and had heads pressure tested and checked out. new front and rear seals, new water pump. a/c pump is shot so new one and acumilator or whatever that thing is... lol. looks like ps pump is not happy so it will get a rebuilt one. have new shocks coming being i have it apart so should be a tad easier. trans will get new seals and checked out by the local trans shop. so far. got heads front cover and water pump on the new engine and got the old engine out.

i set the trans, engine and k frame down still on the floor jacks and lifted the body up and rolled it back, i have a hoist set up on a i beam so it worked pretty good. then set body down and lifted the engine onto the dolly and my bone.

not sure yet, need to drive it and see how i like it. drive it long enough to feel like i got some monies worth outa it and i am looking at headers and exhaust. the exhaust sucks, some cheap shop looking setup, sets to low and is welded all the way back. had to cut it to get engine out. any recommendations? im thinking mid length pasesetters with crossover pipe into a cat back with a converter. still looking at that too, dont want anything loud, if i want that i drive the 93.

I have no regrets on my ebay OBX stainless ones I put on my 3800. I needed to do a little moding to get them to work right. I used the egr off the 02 engine and I hade to buy much longer bolts to connect the Y-pipe They have pitted a little in 5 years of year around PA driving, but they still sound great.

Honestly 95% of the time I forget I have the LS1, in normal driving there is really not that much of a difference. I think I enjoy the 32 mm sway bar and 18" rims as much as the V8.

Price sounds right. I think I paid $285 for the headers in 2010. They had a buy it now or best offer.

I have the OBX exhaust on my LS1. I never posted a sound video because I have a rattling Cat that needs attention.

This what I know:
3800 OBX header with Flowmaster muffler sounds awesome at idle. Even fooled car guys into thinking it was a V8. Raspy as hell over 2500 RPMs.

3800 OBX header and magnaflow muffler, Less mean sounding at idle but much less raspy.

I would guess the OBX headers and exhaust would be close to the Magnaflow setup.

Now you just need some powder coat.

looks like the black plastic covers from a 06 buick lacrosse will work. maybe. kinda like the black, stays clean looking better than aluminum.
