yeah it sheared right off. Do you know what the hose that fitting is for goes to in the first place? I don't recall at the moment. If it's something I'm deleting I could just block it off and call it good.

Disaster.
Tonight I was working on putting fittings back into the intake manifold while watching the Olympics. Then this happened:
I'm in a state of disbelief right now. I can't believe that happened...and I have no idea how the heck I'm supposed to be able to fix it...

duh. Yeah, I kinda need that. Where can I get an easy-out? Would a regular auto parts store have one?

So I got a screw extractor and a tap handle from O'Reilly today. Got home, took them out of their packages, and found that the extractor is too big (for the hole as well as for the handle). And I probably can't take it back either because of the packaging it came in.

Did my valve lash adjustment today. Still haven't gotten that fitting out of the intake manifold. My dad suggested getting a saw blade and cutting most of the way through the stuck part of the fitting. He also said that screw extractors don't work as well for stuff that threaded in pretty tight. I haven't had much luck with finding decent screw extractors anyway. Still figuring that stuff out.
I also started looking at removing the remaining EGR and AIR piping. That one bolt for the EGR tube is pretty difficult to get at. Any tricks for getting that out? And does anybody have any input for how they removed the AIR pipe?

it's out!
As it turned out, the screw extractor that I originally thought would be too big worked beautifully. I think I'm going to give the powdercoater a call though. I really struggled to get any of the fittings started, and this happened as well. I might see if he will try to clear some of the powdercoat from around those threads, hopefully that will help. Then, since I'm holding off on the opti, it's time to start putting stuff together!
I noticed that I need some sort of silicone to seal the front and rear of the intake mani. Do I need any special kind?
