Default Seat solution for tall people?

Just picked up a 95 Z28 convetrible. Fantastic car, but there's an issue.

I'm 6'6" and a little uncomfortable. I need to recline the seat a little more than I like.

Does anyone have any ideas or seat solutions to gain a little more headroom?

Thanks!

Dan

Getting the seat lower is about the only option. I have not seen anyone do this but I would get out a tape measure and see how tall the bottom of a Vet seats was.

I had issues with my non-reclining 2nd gen. I figured out where I wanted the seat remove the seat slider and bolted the seat to directly to the floor. I would advises against this because it tends to **** off you inspection mechanic if he is not tall

Will have to get in there and pull the seat, see if I can modify the mounting bracket.

Will still need to retain full seat movement as my wife drives this car sometimes. She is defintiely not 6'6".

I just got an 02 Camaro, I don't have power seats, which gives me more entry space, and I get extra leg room with the seat tilt. However, I am finding the seatback is too short. I have found that Firebird seats have a headrest, is this something that can be swapped in?

Thanks!

you can move the seat back by making brackets, search the net there are some posts that cover it. heres one that modifies the track to get another inch http://ls1tech.com/forums/appearance...-seat-mod.html

My wife had trouble getting in or out of my 98 TA because of long legs, various operations on the leg/hip (and age;-). So I made some extension brackets to bolt to the floor and the seat tracks. It allows the seat to go back another 6" max. But that is probably too far because the seat belt doesn't fit well that way. She uses it about 1-2" farther back from before. FYI, as the seat goes back, it also goes lower.
