Sagging headliner woes
Bought my Z28 with a sagging headliner with plans to remove it and repair it down the road. It seemed to be in good shape other than just sagging. As I started removing the trim pieces it started crumbling on the corners and at the over head light area. After I got it out I lifted the front edge to see if I could just spray some 3M on it and be done. No such luck. I ended up pulling the "cloth" all the way off. I used a soft brush to get the dry rot foam off the cardboard but the board was rolling up and peeling. Brushing messed it up more but I felt it was still salvageable. I used my shop vac to clean up the residue. Huge mistake. The board actually got sucked into the vac in a few spots. So I have about 2 hours invested in this headliner and it is 10 times worse off than when I started.
I purchased an uncovered ABS headliner and some Hammered Steel paint made for plastic, 170.00 shipped. I won't ever try to repair one of the crap OEM headliners again.
No headliner right now and it is nice not having my head buffeted while I'm driving down the road.

you can get one done for that New Chevy Camaro Headliner | Chevrolet Headliner
The ABS has to be better than the pressed paper GM used. I'm forgoing the cloth all together. Painted liners look real sharp if done right. Toying with the idea of adding a big Z28 also.
