I'm assuming the dash is cracked just for the simple fact that if you find a 4th gen without one, you are God. It'll rattle. Mine does. My left front end also squeaks when I turn or hit a bump as if I were getting it on with a hooker in an alleyway. Just old parts that need replacing. As for the dash, we understand where you're coming from, I've been working on making an aluminum replacement for mine.

Nope. Didn't even notice. Just saw it in the "new posts" and decided to check it out and put my .02 cents in. 2 years old. Darn. I was too late.

Actually, I don't see why that matters. It's an old thread, yeah, but car is like 17 years old, and yeah, the rattle is still there.

I definitely appreciate your input. I wanna know more about this aluminum replacement.

Also I wanna know what's a good glue I could use in the cracks and between the panels to minimize the rattling?

i got 188,000 on mine... it doesnt rattle, just takes love lol pretty much just tighten screws and check if your dash pieces are still lined up/seating properly... i had a rattle in mine and i used double sided 3M tape as a pad so it doesnt anymore and you cant even see it and if u want a seat that doesnt slide forward im selling a cloth passenger one that doesnt.

Well, I guess that I am God. When I bought my '94 Z/28 that was one of the things that I checked knowing that it is a problem that plagues our 4th gens. NOT A SINGLE CRACK!!!!!!! Not even the small louvers on the dash vent. Queue up the Hallelujah Chorus. I couldn't believe it. I really lucked out on this car. The P.O. Even just replaced the Opti so that was selling point number 2 not to mention that she is a BEAUTIFUL car.
