that is normal for the 4th gen gage, the shape and angle of the tank cuases it to do it. full is over the f mark, emty can be anywhere from e to 1/4 tank depending on the car/tank. i get about 110 miles before the needle gets down to the full mark. at 1/4 i have about 1.5 maybe 2 gal. my first 4th gen ran out about 1/8 tank.
