Default headliner question

I am new to this site as well as the czamaro community but have started a project with the boy and will probably know more than i want to by its end. Anyway i was going to replace the headliner and all videos showed just removing old foam well it appears there is like batt insulation under it or maybe he went to far not real sure and cant find an answer any help much appreciated. FYI we are working on a 94 z28

Yeah buy a new one with the plastic base, I just did one on my '93 Z28 hardtop before selling it. It cost me less than $200 and probably got me at least $500 more for the car than what I would have gotten with the torn headliner hanging down.
