Installing a headliner in a 68 camaro and was wondering when you put the rods through the new headliner and it has all that excess that need to be cut off. When you trimm the excess off and get it out of the way how far up the rod do you let it come out of the material to get it to look smooth. Have read of somepeople cutting the inside slot back a half an inch from the end of rod where it connects to roof. What would be a good suggestion. Thanks Larry
