Default door locks sticking

forgive me if this has been addressed in the past, my searches yeilded no results. Ive had this problem on every camaro ive owned with power locks. the locks will lock and unlock ( with the key, or from the inside, manually) when i hit the button tho, i hear the lock motor but it either isnt strong enuf to lock the doors and unlock, or they are gummed up/damaged somehow. my passenger door i cant unlock even with the key from the out side, the drivers side i can but its tough. anyone have a fix for this?

Thanks,
Kelley

Soak everything that moves, could just be the linkage needs a good lube. You may be able to reach between the window and back (latch) part of the door to hit the latch & lock mechanism inside the door. Then work the locks back and forth like a mad man. If that doesn't loosen it up enough, you'll have to remove the door panel and lube up the rods and pivots that you couldn't reach from the outside. If all that fails, your lock solenoid is plain ol worn out.

would white lithium grease be better once everything is moving freely? so it dosent dry out as fast? or would that hurt anything? how hard is it to change the lock solenoid if that ends up being the problem?

Lithium grease would be best for reason you stated. If you need a new lock selonoid, you will have to take apart the door panel and disconnect the linkage. These doors aren't the easiest. If you've never done it before, I would recommend having it done.
