Hello to everyone, this is my first post. Excited to be a part of this forum.

My first question is regarding the "door ajar" sound my car makes when the driver's side door is open. No matter if the key is in or out of the ignition, the door ajar sound goes off. Any ideas on how to disable this so it only works when the key is still in the ignition?

Of the lock cylinder loose? Can you turn it without the key in it?

 

No, it won't turn when the key is out.

 

Mine dings every once in a while, in infrequent patterns...and if I shut like the door or trunk, it will ding once.....weird, as, hell

 

i would suspect the bcm. that is if its controled by it. dont have a wiring schematic for the newer style to look at to see what it goes through.
