Default 95 ignition/high beam selector issues

The car will not turn over unless high beam selector switch is pulled back. High beam selector does not click either. Now it ignition won't turn at all until I keep playing with the high beam selector, then finally will start. Need help urgent!!!

Does the key work ok, meaning does it rotate the tumbler normally?

I think the ignition switch and dimmer switch share the same mounting screws. They are mounted together low on the steering column. Sounds like when you pull on the dimmer lever, it moves both the dimmer switch and the ignition switch. I bet the mounting screws are loose or missing.

Thanks for answering so quick. I will check it out tomorrow evening. When I try turning the key, I have to hold the highbeam switch in and at first the key will turn and then stop halfway, turn the key back to off, while still holding the highbeam switch in, the key will turn and start the car. Thanks for your help GaryDoug I will let you know after checking.

Thank you to GaryDoug and craby. Took out steering column and tightened mounting screws and now ignition works and I have highbeams again. The only thing now is as I am driving the turn signals and the stereo cuts out. Once I turn the car off and restart it everything works again.

The turn signals and radio are on different circuits but still are on the ignition switch, just using different sections. It is very possible that the switch is out of position in the mounting slots now, causing the contacts to be "on the edge" of contact. Try this to confirm it: With the engine off and the ignition switch and radio on, try turning the key back and forth very slightly to see if the radio cuts off again. If it does, the switch need to be adjusted by moving it with the screws loosened but still attached in the mounting slots. There is a procedure, but it assumes you have marked the position of the screws in the slots before removal: 4th Gen F-body Ignition Switch Replacement
I have a feeling that other items are intermittent also, like wipers and windows (same section of switch as radio), and hvac (same section as turn signals). I suspect this will be just a trial-and-error effort.
