Z28 as a daily driver

RE: Z28 as a daily driver
Trunk space: You can fit about 3 or 4 large duffle bags in the trunk/hatch area.
Interior: I think it's pretty nice especially if you have the leather interior. It does have a habbit of rattling though
As far as upkeep goes, there really isn't much I do other than change my fluids as I'm supposed to. Take care of the car and it will take care of you, especially the LS1. Any LS1 is probably going to burn a little bit of oil, this is due to the rings not fitting quite right when GM changed the plant/tooling used to make the LS1 in 99 (theoretically corrected in 2002, but I've seen 2002 cars that burn oil). It's nothing to worry about, just keep an eye on the dipstick.

RE: Z28 as a daily driver
Hey i have a 95 z28 auto with the following mods off the top of my head:
Cam, rockers, springs, suspension, headers, intake, borla catback.
I have leather interior and the driver/passanger seats are amazingly spacious, its like sittin on the couch and driving down the highway. The rear bucket seats, however, cant fit anybody over the age of 10 comfortably. Seriously, there is no space back there. The trunk is quite small, its not very wide or long, but it is quite deep which makes up for the small area. I would say about maybe 6 backpacks would fit pretty good, you could pile on maybe up to 10. No big flaws with my model year i do not believe (do not quote me on any of this), it seems to be a pretty solid car. The LS1 from what i recall somebody telling me runs a decent 26-30 mpg im not sure whether this is mixed, city, or hwy. It does look beautiful though.
If you are getting the LS1 instead of the LT1, take the Z28 off the side otherwise you will get challenged and owned. If you decide to run the LT1, it is loud, it rumbles, and it is so sexy it gives me a chubby everytime.
gl with ur choice

RE: Z28 as a daily driver
Why would a z28 get owned? From what I've seen at the track stockLS1 Z28s are within a tenth or two of every other stock LS1, doesn't matter if it's a firehawk, WS6, or SS. Why would an LT1 be better than an LS1?

RE: Z28 as a daily driver
i want an LS1.
but anyway yes a camaro is a fiiiiiiine daily driver.
works for me, but then again it is my first car so i guess i really wouldnt be able to tell you that.
and the rear seats arent bad at all if you ask me, ive only rode back there once and its not bad.
but all my friends seem to really liek them.
and trunk space, never seems to be a problem with me
i carry guitars and amps in there, have to fold the rear seat down though.
uh and gas idk bout that one, just depends on how much you wanna spend. 19mpg on average for me, but thats not too good.
i'd say 25+ average is good
but hey its better than an suv or truck.

RE: Z28 as a daily driver
I have a 1995 as my daily driver/winter car. It is all I have other than the motorcycle so it gets all the bad weather use and some of the good. Just cruising interstate going 68 get 31mpg. When I do 60% hwy/ 40%city I get 23-25 mpg shifting at 2KRPM. Alll city I am seeing 16-18mpg. Driving the car home from MI, after buying it, with a 30mph tail wind, and going 55mph I got 41mpg.
Mods that would affect MPG: VERY mild cam, 3.73, bald tires on 17" wheels, 6-speed manual trans.
