Before I got my license suspended I paid $58 a month for liability. Now I pay $160 a month for liability.Thats for v6,v8,v10,anything.If you go full coverage it will be alot more expensive.Just for liability most companies it doesnt matter what engine. If you go full coverage on a v8 it will be extremely expensive. It will be alot cheaper if you are on your parents insurance.Hope this helps.

I think my youngest son paid $1100 every two months back when he was 20-21, the designated primary driver of our Z28, and it was a stock go-to-school car. That was five years of so ago, though

Talk to the insurance agent or company rep. They will gladly give you a quote and take your money. You may want to consider just taking liability insurance on a car around 10 years old, as the cost for collision coverage will be more than they would pay for a total loss. Also, some states mandate a 10% discount if you take an approved defensive driving course.

My insurance is $115 a month for my Z28(liablilty only), if I were driving a Ford Escort, it'd be $97...so having a car with a V8 for only liablility doesn't really hinder you that much.

I'm 16 and my insurance is about $100 a month. Right now we're with Mercury, and thats even with the good student discount. Main reason being is because I'm a new driver even with the fact that I drive a 5.0 Ford. I expect insurance to be around the same when I get my Camaro in December. I'm going with a 3.8 V6 and reccomend that you do the same since you are a new driver as well.
