Wont crank
Put a new motor in. The key was missing replaced with new steering column with key. Security light is on steady not flashing. When turn key on lights and all work car won't crank or even try. Can hear fuel pump come on. If I jump the starter it will crank and run for few seconds then cut off.. Please help motor is 3.8 v6

Computer is looking for the original key frequency.
I don't remember the VATs system stopping cranking. That you will need to track down.

I believe the VATS also controls the ground to the starter relay coil. Without the this relay, the key switch will not energize the starter. Going to have to find the resistive value of the original key and make a new key with that resistance, do VATS by-pass, or replace the BCM with a new one.
