Default Winter storage

Hey all, sorry for the posting in this section, but I didn't know where else it should go.

I am looking to prep my car for storage over the winter, its getting chilly here in Michigan fast. I have never prepped a car for winter so I don't exactly know what to do.

I am gonna put some fuel stabilizer in it, and thats all I really have in mind. I will be storing in in my brothers barn, so whats the best way to keep rodents away from it?

Any ideas will be greatly appreciated

Moth ball the engine bay and interior, cap your tailpipes, trickle charge or disconnect the battery, take off wheels or up the pressure to help prevent flat spots

Buy a few desicant bags and put a couple inside the car. They will absorb moisture which Im sure theres plenty of in Michigan. Also, buy a box of Bounce Dryer sheets... lay them inside on the floors and in the back hatch area. Mice hate them for some reason. Lastly, I would set mouse traps around the car as well and periodically check them and reset them if needed.

Thanks for all the insight. Yes there is plenty of moisture here in MI. didn't rain all summer and just rained for 2 days straight.

Any ideas?

Definitely put a plastic tarp down when parking the car on open ground. Otherwise, natural evaporation from the ground will cause the undercarriage to rust.

If I was going into a barn I would scrape the cash together to get a bag. It could easly pay for itself if you end up with a single rodent issue. If you have the funs and access to 110v you may want to look at a bubble.

CarJacket size finder

Note: I did not search for the best price. I am sure you can find it cheaper.

Now if it were me, I'd call that bag a car condom.
"One size fits all"
"Head and shoulders above the rest"
"Ours blows.....all others suck"

I could keep going......
