A few months ago, I purchased a '96 Camaro. It's in great shape except for one thing.... the windshield. The glass was scratched in few places, and now light scratches fill the whole swath that follows arc of the blade, and it is getting worse. Since it seemed as though the 'Anco' blades that came with the car had done the damage, I replaced them with a set of 'Trico' blades. These blades made a loud *thwack* at the top of the arc, and best I can figure is that they were flopping around. I have since replaced them with 'Tripledge' blades that seem to work well enough... but the scratches still appear to be getting worse!

I was recently talking with a girl who drives a '95, and she mentioned that her windshield just started to get scratched up by a set of new blades her brother recently put on it (but couldn't recall the brand).

Is this a common 4th gen F-body problem? Should I expect a scratched windshield to get progressively worse? Are our windshields particularly vulnerable to certain wiper blades? Can anyone recommend a safe brand to use after I get my windshield polished or replaced?

This problem has me scratching my head, and squinting my eyes. Any insight would be appreciated!
